Mithril Mining Corp. Joins the U.S. Defense Industrial Base Consortium, Unlocking New Pathways for Tungsten Exploration and Process Funding

Mithril Mining Corp, an American owned and operation critical mineral exploration and development company developing two high-grade tungsten projects in the United States, is proud to announce its formal acceptance into the Defense Industrial Base Consortium (DIBC). Administered under a Department of Defense Other Transaction Agreement (OTA), DIBC links innovative companies with rapid-response funding opportunities that strengthen critical-material supply chains vital to national security.

“Becoming a member of DIBC is a game-changer,” said Taylor Sulik, President of Mithril Mining. “It gives us direct access to government programs that can accelerate drilling, metallurgical testing, and pilot-scale processing. More importantly, it aligns our mission—reshoring a secure tungsten supply—with the nation’s broader defense priorities.”

Why DIBC Membership Matters for Mithril Mining

  • Streamlined Access to Capital: Through DPA Title III and Industrial Base Analysis & Sustainment (IBAS) pathways, DIBC members can submit unsolicited white papers year-round for cost-shared grants, purchase commitments, and low-interest loans aimed at closing critical-material gaps.
  • Faster Contracting, Fewer Barriers: The OTA framework removes many of the FAR-level compliance hurdles typical of federal contracts, enabling quicker awards and early-stage prototyping with reduced administrative burden.
  • No Membership Fees: Small and mid-sized explorers like Mithril Mining can participate without annual dues, ensuring that every dollar saved is redirected toward core exploration activities.
  • Collaboration & Visibility: DIBC’s member portal and annual symposium connect industry, academia, and government program managers, opening doors to joint R&D, advanced materials testing, and off-take discussions with prime contractors.
  • Supply-Chain Resilience: Tungsten is designated a critical defense mineral due to its unmatched density, hardness, and high-temperature performance. Domestic sources currently meet less than 5 percent of U.S. demand, leaving defense programs exposed to foreign supply shocks. Mithril Mining’s project directly addresses this vulnerability.
