Mithril Mining Launches Advanced Geophysical Exploration Program with Montana Tech to Accelerate Calvert Resource Development

Two-year sponsored research program will apply advanced geophysical technologies to refine drill targets while strengthening America’s critical minerals workforce.

BEAVERHEAD COUNTY, MONTANA — August 27, 2026 — Mithril Mining Corp. (“Mithril” or the “Company”), today announced a two-year Sponsored Research Agreement with the Department of Geological Engineering at Montana Technological University (Montana Tech) to advance geophysical exploration at the Company’s Calvert Tungsten Mine in Beaverhead County, Montana.

The research program, running from May 15, 2026, through May 14, 2028, will utilize advanced drone- and ground-based geophysical surveys, borehole measurements, and 2D/3D subsurface modeling to better define scheelite-bearing tungsten mineralization and generate high-priority drill targets. The project will be conducted by Montana Tech graduate student Hunter Brimhall under faculty supervision.

The collaboration combines industry and academic expertise to support Mithril’s exploration strategy while providing hands-on training in modern mineral exploration techniques.

The program is expected to reduce geological uncertainty, improve drill targeting, and enhance the efficiency of future exploration expenditures as Mithril continues advancing the Calvert Tungsten Mine.

The Calvert Mine historically produced more than 217,000 tons of ore averaging approximately 1.10% WO₃, with historical resource estimates indicating additional tungsten mineralization remains below and along strike of previously mined areas. Despite the property’s history, no modern integrated geophysical survey has been completed across the project.

The research will integrate:

●      Drone-borne magnetic and gamma-ray surveys

●      Ground magnetic, radiometric, electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), and induced polarization (IP) surveys

●      Borehole petrophysical measurements

●      Advanced 2D and 3D geophysical inversion modeling

The resulting datasets will help refine geological models, prioritize future drilling, and support responsible resource development at the Calvert Mine.
